Grand Concourse Weddings | Ashley + Larry

Ashley & Larry got hitched at St. Augustine Church in Lawrenceville and hosted their Pittsburgh wedding day celebration at The Grand Concourse.

Pittsburgh Wedding Photography

Fall rain & cold temps in Pittsburgh can sometimes be hit or miss, luckily though for Larry & Ashley’s wedding the weather that day was absolutely perfect. Their autumn wedding day could not have been more beautiful, especially with all of their reception events taking place at the iconic Grand Concourse restaurant in Pittsburgh’s station square.

I started my day with Ashley as she prepped alongside her sister, friends & parents. I got a clear sense of the close-knit bond Ashley shares with her family and just how special this day was going to be for all them them.

St. Augustine Church Wedding Day

St. Augustine Church is nestled in the heart of Lawrenceville’s neighborhood. Inside, the church’s grand gothic ceilings and alter’s vibrant patterns & colors set the stage for some amazing picturesque ceremony photos.

Afterwards, we ventured over to the heart of Pitt’s campus for a handful of creative portraits along the stone walkways and lawn outside of the Cathedral of Learning. We also took a few moody contrasty shots inside the Cathedral that turned out to be some of my favorite.

A Great Gatsby Themed Grand Concourse Reception

When we arrived at the Grand Concourse, the sun was beginning to set amidst a spectacular view of the downtown Pittsburgh from across the Monongahela river. Inside, the restaurant’s elegant & grandeur appearance felt like you had stepped back in time to a 1920’s cocktail party which is what Ashley & Larry’s Great Gatsby themed reception centered around. The grand dining hall wedding experience was unlike any other reception that I’ve photographed!

Throughout our meetings, engagement session and phone calls together, it was wonderful to finally see all the planned pieces of this day fall into place. More importantly though, it was truly special to witness these two in the moment together, celebrating their first day as husband and wife. Thank you Larry & Ashley for being so kind and welcoming throughout our process of working together. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know the both of you and I wish you nothing less than a lifetime of friendship and love together.
