Strip District Engagement Photography | Matthew Blassey
When I arrived at Amanda’s parent’s house on a chilly Saturday afternoon, I entered a home full of warmth, heartfelt bonding and plenty of laughs as Amanda anxiously awaited for her day to begin, alongside her bridesmaids. Amanda’s upbeat energy lit up everything & everyone around her that day. She was a such a fun and engaging bride to photograph. That day I came to witness Amanda was marrying a man that is truly her fitting equal. Andrew is a soft spoken, kind & genuinely good man that completes her. It was evident to see why these two were committing their lives to each other.
Amanda & Andrew together shared such an inviting and positive vibe throughout their wedding day. They were all about keeping their moments together fun and carefree, even when that meant putting up with me for outdoor photos on a windy winterish afternoon! Despite the cold though, some of my favorite shots came out of their mid-day portraits. The combination of their photogenic expression, set against the rustic & urban textures of the strip district yielded a plethora of vibrant images that I just love! Afterward, we made a special stop at Klavon’s, an authentic 1920’s era Icecream parlor a couple of blocks down in the strip. I learned that Andrew & Amanda are ice cream aficionado’s, so much so that they even had an ice cream station at their reception (which turned out to be the perfect addition to the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table).
The atmosphere that evening at their reception was the classic celebration of two families coming together to form a beautiful union of strong faith & love, with Amanda & Andrew in the center of it all. I was honored to have documented their love in addition to a full day of unforgettable moments, It brought my 2016 wedding season to a close on a perfect note.
