The historic George Washington Hotel is the ideal destination within the Washington, PA area if you’re looking for a venue to host your wedding day as well as accommodate your out-of-town guests. George Washington Hotel wedding days offer all the comforts of a modern hotel with a distinctive historical appeal. The hotel’s elegant Grand Ballroom features 1920’s era architectural charm that transforms any wedding day celebration into an upscale & stately experience. One of my favorite features of the Grand Ballroom is its easily accessible 2nd-floor balcony which allows me a unique vantage point for capturing dancing and wide-angle room shots throughout a reception.

The bright & airy Washington Room is easily one of my favorite indoor locations for wedding ceremony photography. The room features a two-story wall of windows aligning the left side of the room that provides fantastic natural light, perfect for documenting a ceremony. In addition, the Washington Room also has a few small 2nd-floor balcony areas, located along the right side, that provide a creative perspective for capturing wide-angle shots of a ceremony.

One of my favorite aspects of photographing a George Washington Hotel Wedding day is the variety of worthy photo spots for mid-day creative portraits. Across the street from the hotel is the Washington County Courthouse as well as the business district that provides an urban style vibe for creative pictures. Down the hill, a short distance in the other direction is Washington & Jefferson’s college campus that’s perfect if you want park foliage style portraits. If it does happen to rain on your wedding day though, the hotel’s outdoor covered front patio also doubles as a great spot for elegant portraits with an added vintage appeal.
