Pittsburgh Outdoor Wedding Days | Matthew Blassey
My buddy Charley had called me up about a month or two out from his big day, asking if I’d be up for photographing a small and casual wedding day ceremony he & his fiancé, Gina, had planned. Luckily I was available for the date and was eager to take part in capturing Charley & Gina tie the knot. The theme they had chosen for their that day centered around an intimate urban park ceremony followed by a late afternoon lunch celebration.
Charley & Gina chose the West End Overlook community park to host their ceremony, which provided one of the most spectacular vantage points you can find to show off Pittsburgh’s 3 rivers and city skyline. Gina & Charley shared a short exchange of prepared vows and rings, and afterwards we captured a handful of creative portraits around the park, including a scenic couple shot with the entire city in the distance.
We then ventured down to Station Square to wrap up the day’s shots with a series of portraits of Charley & Gina amongst the vintage style architecture of the Grand Concourse. After wrapping up a series of photos in and outside of the restaurant’s grand lobby, Charley and his new wife headed into the restaurant for a celebrated lunch with their close group of family.
All & all, I was happy to have been a part of Charley’s wedding day, meet his new wife Gina & capture some great shots in the process!
