Washington, PA Wedding Photographers | Matthew Blassey
Dena and Dave are old friends that I’ve known for years, so when I was asked to shoot their wedding I was truly excited and eager to be spending the day with them, among-st our connected friends. Dena’s hometown wedding day started out in Monessen, PA, where she had grown up, and their wedding ceremony was just a few minutes down the road at Dena’s family’s Greek Orthodox Church. Greek Orthodox weddings have always been one of my favorite ceremonies to capture; not only because of their vibrant & detailed architectural interiors but also because of the cultural traditions that are exchanged during those ceremonies always tell a rich story through photographs. Dave & Dena’s ceremonial union that afternoon was shared intimately in front of a tightly packed church of their closest friends and family. For the 2nd half of the day, we ventured over to the Double Tree Hotel in Washington, PA for an evening filled with Greek dances, dance offs and of course my favorite, a cookie table filled with homemade baklava!
I’m thankful to have been given the opportunity to capture and share in Dena & Dave’s day of celebration. Shooting weddings of long time friends is always a bonus work perk that I love in my job.
Dave & Dena – Congrats on the beautiful day from beginning to end and most importantly your new life together! See you soon!
