Shady Elms Farm Weddings | Matthew + Ashley

Shady Elms Farm, nestled within the countryside of Washington County, was the rustic & elegant destination for Ashley & Matthew’s country inspired wedding day. Shady Ems features a 19th-century Georgian-style farmhouse & 120-year-old reception barn set amongst rolling hills and open fields. There was such a plethora of scenic landscape & vintage decor that I could have spent the entire weekend capturing photos there!

Shady Elm’s Farm approached their wedding day with a unique sense of calm and ease, which started with a private patio lunch for Ashley & her bridesmaids when they arrived. I also liked the cozy proximity of the “getting ready” farmhouse, outdoor lawn ceremony site & cocktail carriage house which in turn created an eclectic community style vibe for guests to walk about and mingle.

Cloudy blue skies, a mix of sunshine and a gentle breeze provided an ideal setting for a fall afternoon outdoor ceremony. For portraits we took a stroll around the surrounding pond and fields, taking full advantage of this beautiful farm and picturesque sunset light. For the final phase of the day, we all headed into the farm’s rustic, historic barn for toasts, dinner and a photogenic mix of funny and candid non-stop dancing.

Overall it was an idyllic outdoor fall day, which I’m sure is what Ashley & Matthew had envisioned for their country wedding day.

Matthew & Ashley, congrats to a perfect day and thank you again for allowing me to capture it!
