Point State Park Engagements | Karly + Dylan

Karly & Dylan’s love of music holds a special connection in their relationship and of course one of their favorite things to do as a couple is shopping for vinyl. Karly was eager to have some photographs taken inside a local Pittsburgh record shop they frequent, so we made it our first stop of the evening. Jerry’s Records in Squirrel Hill has been named one of Rolling Stone’s best record shops in the country, and upon stepping foot inside I quickly saw how it earned that title. With two full rooms filled with vinyl from stretching from wall to wall, I imagine any audiophile losing track of the hours in this place.

After taking some inside photos, we ventured outside to capture a few urban style street portraits along Murray Avenue. We then ventured to Point State Park for the final hour of sunset for the second half of the session. For being a Sunday evening in the city, Point State Park was still so alive and full of energy. From people walking about and riding bikes to tossing frisbee’s and hanging out by the fountain…it was such a festive & relaxed atmosphere. We made a full loop throughout the park; walking through the treeline walking paths, stopping along the iconic stone steps, and taking pictures along the riverbank and iconic fountain. Walking and chatting with Dylan and Karly throughout Point State Park at sunset was the perfect chill way to end a busy weekend.

All and all, Dylan & Karly’s natural & easy chemistry throughout the session made my job feel almost effortless. Karly & Dylan’s unguided moments of laughter, silliness & romance entwined seamlessly together that provided a variety of authentic engagement portraits.
