Robin & Matt got hitched in Robin’s hometown of Pittsburgh, on a chilly December afternoon at the stylish Pittsburgh Airport Marriot. When I first met the two of them I had to laugh when Robin compared her traveling lifestyle to a band of gypsies. Matt & Robin had currently been living in DC but were temporary living in Hawaii, due to Matt’s job, for a few months leading up to the wedding. Then after the wedding they were going to be picking up and moving to Matt’s native city of Boston. The amount of traveling done within a year of planning a wedding would cause most people’s heads to spin but Robin & Matt seemed to thrive on that pace of lifestyle.
When it came down to documenting Robin & Matt, you couldn’t have asked for a more exciting & engaging couple to photograph. I immediately got the vibe Robin was going to be an energetic, personable & vibrant bride to document from the moment I stepped foot into her hotel room. And, she certainly didn’t hold back any emotion in showing her built-up excitement and antsy anticipation. Even when my camera wasn’t focused on her, Robin was trying to pull excitement and energy out of me which was funny. With that being said, Robin was truly a fun bride to shoot and connect with.
Later on that evening once the DJ’s music started playing, there was no chance you were pulling Matt off the dance floor. Tossing on his shades and dusting off his Michael Jackson moves, Matt became a one man dance talent show. All & all, having spent the entire day with Matt & Robin and being in close to witness their shared laughter & emotional outbursts it was clear to see that they were a perfect match.
Robin & Matthew, I wish the two of you a lifelong road of happiness and love (where ever that gypsy road may take you). You guys rocked!
