Phipps Conservatory Weddings | Emily + Sandro

Emily & Sandro had a beautiful Phipps Conservatory Wedding Day, and just in time for spring to finally turn a corner, welcoming in a warm & sunny Saturday. From the very beginning to end, these two were so upbeat and enthusiastic to finally share in their long-awaited day together. Sandro & Emily were incredibly kind & welcoming to spend the day with and I’m very grateful for that 🙂

Sandro & Emily’s ceremony took place at Saint Stanislaus Church, a beautiful historic church located in the heart of a bustling Strip District. It’s hard to believe that this church is well over 100 years old (1891) and still so full of life; so vibrant & architecturally aesthetic, one of my favorite Pittsburgh churches for capturing indoor ceremony photography.

After the ceremony we make a brief stop at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh to capture some hazy outdoor wedding portraits. You really couldn’t had asked for nicer springtime weather. Having an empty courtyard adjacent to the library was just the window of time we needed to capture a nice variety of outside city park style portraits. Some of my favorites were the shots of Emily & Sandro in front of the library (especially with no photo bombing strangers walking by! which is a rarity at that spot on the weekends)

With Sandro being born & raised in Cuba it was the perfect complement to host their reception in Phipps Conservatory’s newly opened Tropical Cuban Forest exhibit. A lush variety of Cuban flora, exotic palms & cascading waterfalls provided a vibrant tropical backdrop for some stunning portraits! With the saturday’s regular admission hours coming to a close we also got the opportunity to do a walk-about throughout the other greenhouse garden rooms for some additional wedding couple shots.

I’d have to say my favorite moment that night was Sandro’s traditional Cuban dance with his mom. They completely owned the dance floor while holding nothing back amidst a room full of cheers and undivided attention. So much fun to capture.

All and all, Sandro & Emily’s wedding day experience felt so authentic and real because it was an extension of how I see them as a couple. The way in which they embraced one another & went about the day was nothing short of genuine. Emily & Sandro are great people, truly deserving of each other.

Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of this!
