Heinz Chapel Wedding Day Photography | Matthew Blassey
I had a wonderful time spending the day with Lindsey & Joe, photographing their beautiful wedding day. Last Fall I had a chance to spend time with the two of them during their engagement session, which was a lot of fun, so I was really looking forward to the opportunity of working Joe & Lindsey again. The day started in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh at the elegant Omni William Penn Hotel. I love photographing at this hotel because the rooms are always so brightly lit with beautiful natural light and the hotel’s grand lobby always makes for an incredible shot.
The ceremony then followed at Heinz Chapel in Oakland followed by perfectly lit portraits along the Pitt campus tree covered walkway leading towards the Cathedral. The chapel & shots along the campus were symbolically special to the both of them since it was during college when they first met and starting dating. Of course, this segment of the day would not have been complete without Joe grabbing a HAIL PITT T-shirt, just before heading back on the bus for the last stop of the day to Pittsburgh Opera House. Great speeches, a handful of toasts and plenty of dancing followed at this eclectic venue which was elegantly lit with chandeliers and streaming lights. My favorite spot in the house was the upstairs balcony which allowed me access to capture some really awesome point of view shots! Joe & Lindsey were humble, appreciate and an engaging couple to capture and spend the day with and i’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of their special day.
Lindsey & Joe – I wish you guys a long and very happy life together, take care!
